Jonathan's parents were in town along with his brother Michael. Every day Michael gets hamburgers for one of his meals. Each time my dad was around he teased Michael about sharing those hamburgers with him. So we decided that when dad came into town for the weekend, that we needed to play a little (big) practical joke on him.
We went out to breakfast with Jonathan's parents to a local joint and discovered that they served a nice sized hamburger. When I say nice sized, I am talking about 4lbs 2oz worth of nice sized! We had mom and dad meet us at the restaurant and we pretended to look at the menus. I went ahead and ordered the kids their food, and after waiting a while for the "surprise", we had the waitress come and take our fake orders so dad wouldn't catch on to the joke.
The restaurant has an eating contest, and so when the waitress brought out the platter we told dad we had entered him into the food challenge. He didn't know what to think!
He really didn't eat is all. We ended up cutting it like a pie and sharing. It fed 7 adults with a slice left over!
It was the local St. Pat's day celebration which means a bunch of craziness and so Elvis happened to show up at the restaurant. Haven thought he was a clown!! Cracked us up!
