Picnic in the park

It was such a beautiful day today and I really wanted to take Haven to the park but I could not figure out when I would have time.  So, on Jonathan's lunch break we decided we could have a picnic in the park.  We picked up Subway and headed over there to eat and watch Haven play.  I didn't realize my cheeks had gotten so puffy until you get an extreme close-up!

Haven loved to run and gallop around.

Her favorite thing was the slide.  She is such a big girl now we didn't even have to help her.  She played all by herself and loved it.

Here she is saying "weeeeeee" and she sprang forward and backward.

There were a lot of parents that took advantage of the nice day.  She had plenty of kids to watch.  At one point three of them were going down the slide together.  And then came the bully of a girl who wasn't considerate at all but just pushed her way around Haven and took over things.  My mommy claws wanted to come out, but I guess the girl was only two.

She had so much fun and Jonathan and I had such a pleasant time enjoying the weather and watching her.  She did so well at playing and staying on the playground....until the very end.  Kids have the sixth sense about when their parents are distracted.  We were packing up everything and someone drew our attention to the fact that Haven had made it to the road and was headed out on foot.  Talk about scaring me to death!  She had made it pretty far away.  We were so diligent to watch her and it only took a minute to loose her.  We live and we learn, and I definitely learned!

Three weeks to go!

Well, as of Friday I have three weeks to go until my due date.  I have been reading way to many delivery stories on line that talk about going past a due date.  It tends to be discouraging since I have been wanting to have Levi now for a few weeks :o)  I am really trying not to obsess too much, but I think about it the majority of the day.  I really am praying for contentment, but I realize I just don't like the unknown factor.  And of course there are those pesky braxton hicks contractions that sometimes hurt.  Anyway, I live for Friday to Friday and Tuesday to Tuesday.  Tuesdays are now when the doc checks my progress.  Last Tuesday I was at a 1 1/2 and thick, which is pretty much what I was with Haven four weeks out.  Just two days until this coming Tuesday!  You see how obsessed I am.  Just let it go Christine and be patient.  I tell myself that, but I just don't listen very well.

Here is dad at nine months also.  He has been there off and on for a while now, so not sure when his baby is due :o)  This shirt is very flattering on him...he looks more to be around eight months I think.  He knows I am just giving him a hard time.  I warned him he would be on the blog.  I do get my sweet tooth from him.

The deception begins

Sometimes you just have to laugh.  Haven has been sick, so of course she is a bit cranky in certain circumstances.  Tonight I gave her a hot dog and would not let her have mashed potatoes until she finished with the hot dog.  She really loves potatoes and would not have eaten the protein.  Anyway, she of course cried and cried and we ignored her hoping that she would eat the hot dog.  Instead she "hid" the hot dog.  Can you find it?  She showed us her empty plate to prove she no longer had a hot dog!  She really wanted those potatoes!

Grandma's baby bed

I pulled out mom's baby bed from when she was a little girl.  Haven has really enjoyed it in many different ways.

She of course puts her babies on it and wants to cover them with a blanket.

She tried to push it, but of course it is made out of heavy pipe so it wouldn't budge.

I think she sits and plays on it more than she puts her babies on it.

She also tried to lay down on it.  

It is a bit small for her.

This picture has nothing to do with the doll bed, it was just a great smile/laugh.  Her and daddy were playing and I just sat there enjoying her smile and laughter.

Sitting for different reasons

Haven is such the mommy.  She will climb up into the chair and read to her baby.  You can't tell here, but earlier she was frustrated because she couldn't get her baby to sit on her lap just right.  She is starting to actually smile when she says cheese.

Apparently she was a bit cranky when we took this picture.  Again she was reading to her baby, but my what a perturbed look on her face.

Okay, so I started "potty training" all of two times one day this past week.  I guess if mommy is not committed yet, then Haven won't be either :o)  She seemed to enjoy sitting there and I tried to give her privacy, but she would want me to be in view.  I did get a couple of cute pictures though. 

Snow Bunny

Haven got to be a little snow bunny this week.  I was worried we wouldn't be able to try out her snow suit this year.  I wondered if she would be "afraid" of the snow like she was of the sand at Christmas, but she just got right on down and started to try it out.

The one thing she didn't like was snow in her face.  She started crying when a chunk was stuck to her nose.  She didn't like it when Jonathan and I were throwing snow at each other and her, and she really didn't like it when she fell and landed face first in the snow.

Not sure if you can see, but she had the cutest rosy nose and cheeks.

The extend of her "play" was taking her hands and moving them back and forth in the snow.

What she mainly did is walk.  She did great!  She walked all the way down the road and we had a hard time getting her to go back to the house.  A couple of times we asked if she was ready to inside and she said a definite "NO".

It is hard to tell, but in one of the tire tracks you can see her little tiny boot tracks.

Haven really enjoys hiding.  Daddy taught her long ago how to hide in the pillows.  Sometimes she will crawl on the couch and hide herself.  This time daddy and her hid together.  She will do this with blankets too.  One of us will be out of the room and she will get a blanket and say "hide", and we will have to hide from the person not in the room.

She is so excited when she is found.  It is so cute to hear her giggle in anticipation when she is hidden.

The other day I had some random clothes that were to big for her out and she decided she wanted all three items on at once.  She is now starting to "cheese" when the camera comes out.  Most of the time it is a grimace or pure teeth, but sometimes she manages a "cheese" of a smile.

Christmas Adventures - Pt 7 Last Post

For the last five years we have been able to be with Cullen on his birthday.  He turned six this year.  Aren't these the cutest cupcakes!

Amie liked them so much, according to Cullen she ate three.  Look at the plate for proof.  Actually everyone kept putting their liners on her plate.

Colten really likes children so he was cute with Haven.  He liked riding in the car with her wherever she went.

Cullen got a drum set for his birthday and Haven LOVED it.  She pounded away.

The second story had a small balcony that looked towards the lake.  The lake was that close!  I love this picture.
