E-I-E-I-O

The past two years Parents as Teachers has had an event called Old MacDonald's where the children can pet different animals. Last year Haven surprised us and rode a horse, so I knew she would like to go again this year. Levi is afraid of animals and keeps his distance, so I was hoping this event would help him warm up to animals. It didn't, but he loved watching the horses, just not riding them.
They handed out cute animal hats this year. This is a cow, but Haven thinks it's a horse, so it is a horse.
Hannah didn't get a hat, but I had her model Levi's.
Since Levi wasn't big on animals, we carried him a bit.
This year they had a super cute miniature horse. Poor Levi wouldn't even pet this one, even though he loves horses. He got pretty close and then leaned heavily into me.
I forget how huge llamas are. This was the smaller one.
Haven got to ride a smaller pony and then this huge horse. She loves it!
Since I was taking pictures I took a few of Hannah. This picture just cracks me up, so I included it.

Easter 2011

We had a great, but very tiring, Easter week. Wednesday night was the foot-washing service, Thursday night was the Seder dinner, Friday night was the Good Friday service, Saturday was Haven's birthday party, and Sunday was Easter. Each year we enjoy each and every service.
I couldn't find a dress for Hannah, so she got to wear one of Haven's cute hand-me-downs. Since Hannah is still so tiny, it was a little big, but not too bad. Here are a couple of pictures we took as we were trying on different headbands for her to wear.
I wish this didn't turn out so grainy, because I thought it was a great picture. Especially of the kids.
 My pretty little girls!
Aren't they so cute! I was excited when I found this dress for Haven. All the layers of frills is just her style and it didn't break the bank. And thanks to hand-me-downs, Levi's outfit was super cute and only cost the price of a white shirt!
We definitely do not do a lot for Easter when it comes to gifts, but I thought a little bit of candy is a treat for them.

Happy 4th Birthday Haven!

We started Haven's birthday celebration by letting her open her presents from Grandma and Grandpa Young via webcam. This is the first year they have missed her birthday. Technology is wonderful! They got to see all her excitement as she opened their gifts.
When Grandma Young was visiting she told Haven she would get her a violin. Well, they found one! It is really neat. Anytime the bow touches the strings it plays music. She wants to take it to church to play it on stage.
Uncle Michael got her a pillow pet and she has slept with it every day since.
The day after her birthday, we had her party at the church. It was a princess theme, so the kids got to make their own crowns.
They did a wonderful job making their crowns.
We then had the kids go on a treasure hunt. Jonathan made really cool clues and they each had to find the next clue. At the end they won prizes.

Haven then got to open all of her great gifts! She really enjoyed them all.
The bear plays "I am a promise" REALLY loudly. The kids have played it a lot, so I am sure I  will be sick of that song after a while.
Jaley read all of Haven's cards for her.
Haven already has two pairs of PJ's that have "two-two's". We tease her each night and call them "seven-seven's, or ten-ten's" you get the picture. Anyway these are her favorite PJ's. Grandma Fry found some more this year, so we were excited to get cute new PJ's with "four-four's".

Levi enjoyed the strawberry cupcake. He is just like his dad. He doesn't like strawberries, but he likes strawberry flavored things. Haven's favorite fruit is strawberries, just like her mom.
 Grandpa Fry cuddling with Hannah.
Haven modeling one of her new PJ's. Of course she had to wear a pair to bed that night.

Starting to Smile!

Hannah has started to smile and it is so much fun! It brings such joy to my heart. She has also started to coo. She moves her mouth trying to express herself. What a fun time I have been having watching her eyes light up when I interact with her. She is so precious.

Unplanned Buzz Cut

Well, I TRIED to trim Levi's hair into a summer cut. He gets so hot and his hair, thought super cute with curls, is hot when it gets long. Anyway, my trim looked HORRIBLE, so out came the clippers and he got to get his first buzz cut. It changes his look dramatically, but he is still super cute.
We bribed him to sit still and let me clip away. He enjoyed some very messy M&M's as a reward.

Sleeping Beauties VS Rough and Tumble

All the girls (including me) took a nap together. It was a bit crowded before I got up considering Haven was in the middle of the bed.
The day before we took Levi in to get his pictures taken he took a head first dive off of a latter at the park and landed face first in the gravel.  I have heard so many stories of boys banging themselves up right before pictures that it really didn't phase me.
His leg was scraped up too. It is hard to see, but it was a nice long scrape. For as accident prone as he is, these are his first major scrapes, that we can remember.

Smiles

Levi's new cute smile is this cheezy grin. Cracks us up!
Hannah is on her way to smiles. She smiles in her sleep and is starting to smile a bit in response to us.
She has been working hard at getting her thumb. She still tucks it in her fist and sucks on her hand instead. I finally had to stop swaddling her because she would grunt at night trying to get her hands free.
Can you tell what Levi is playing? Bet you can't. Let me give you a hint. Hat, ball and bat. Baseball! We were playing with the ball and then he went to get his guitar to hit the ball and then he had to go and get a hat.
My hubby has the best smile! It is one of the things that first attracted me to him.
Hannah sometimes likes to bury her face in your shoulder when she falls asleep.
