We celebrated Haven's birthday twice. We did a few little things on her birthday and then we had a party on the Saturday after her birthday. The day of her birthday we went to the Blue Beagle. It is a ceramic painting store. It was a lot of fun! At least I had a ton of fun. I want to go back and do it again. Maybe for my birthday. Anyway, Haven painted a penguin and a light switch thingy. I painted a vase and Michael painted a football player.
We went to Wal-Mart after painting and Haven picked out a doll with some of the money that she got for her birthday. It was broke so after lunch, she picked Chinese, she went back to Wal-Mart to pick out another doll. We then had a big birthday cookie to celebrate. The icing ran everywhere for some reason so the cookie was hard to read. Good thing she can't read yet.
Saturday we had a Dora Adventure birthday party. She was the youngest. All her friends have a few years on her. So I tried to make the party fun for all ages. I made "backpacks" for all the kids. I was really surprised they turned out halfway decent since I do not have many crafty bones in my body.
The first obstacle in their adventure was to cross duck pond without touching the rubber ducks. Levi decided he wanted to taste the water. Thank goodness all the little feet hadn't been in there yet!
Poor Levi this was pretty much the only way he participated.
They then had to go into the dark sanctuary, with flashlights that were in their backpacks, and find the answers to some riddles. They were hidden under the pews. At this time the tornado sirens were going off and it was pouring down rain, but we didn't let that stop the fun.
The grumpy pastor had riddles and to get past him they had to use the answers that they found in the sanctuary to answer his riddles. They then went into a dark room and had to find all of the glow stars that had "fallen" from the sky. They found all 47 of them. Odd number I know, but that was how many I had.
Haven then opened up all of her wonderful presents! Everyone did such a great job picking out gifts that fit her. I had a hard time getting a picture of her face while she was opening them.
I asked her to hold up her present and she did :o)
That's better. Even though we still can not see her face.
The gift daddy and I were anxiously waiting for arrived today. A little late, but that's okay. She has played in it all night. Levi likes it too. This was five o'clock and she was still in her pj's from the night before! It is a fold down tent that is huge! The whole family can fit into it.
