Little Squirt

When we were registering for Haven's birth, Jonathan and I remember seeing what they called a Pee Pee Tee Pee for little boys.  We laughed so much at the concept and were disappointed we didn't need one!  Well, we now have a boy and Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Amie hooked Levi up with what they now call a Little Squirt.  Same thing different name.  We have been peed and pooped on so much, so now we use the Little Squirt.  It has worked pretty well.  A bit tough to keep on a squirming boy, but we try our hardest.  It is amazing how far a little newborn can squirt and the territory he can cover!  Of course there were jokes all around when we first used it.  You can use your imagination.  It does look rather large for a newborn :o)
He looked so precious.  I loved the little puckered lips.
Proud daddy.

"Stuck"

Haven loves to put clothes on.  Sometimes they are not her own.  Earlier this day she was putting daddy's underwear on and put both of her legs in one leg of the underwear.  Later, as you can see below, she found two clean pair of underwear and put them over her head.  She came up to us after she got herself tangled and said "stuck".

Coming Home

Levi and I came home Sunday afternoon.  It was wonderful to stay the second night and day.  I did not do that with Haven and regretted it!  I am doing so much better after Levi than I did after Haven.  I can actually walk without pain now and I was in pain with her for a couple of weeks.  Still not getting much sleep though.  I have not been able to nap all that much.
The hospital has a board on which you can put your child's footprints.  Here are Levi's.  The one was a bit smudged.
Jonathan coordinated his outfit with the car seat.  We laughed about that.  At first we kept calling him a her.  We are now getting used to a boy and say her a lot less!
Haven was excited to see the baby.  She kissed him, poked him and pretty much was all over him.  In all of the excitement she did not take a nap that day.
That first day she wanted to crawl into the car seat and have PawPaw put the cover over her.  She just kept getting in and out and buckling the buckles.
Here is our scrawny little boy.  He was 6 lbs 7 oz when we brought him home.  He has all kinds of extra skin wrinkles that are so cute.
The first night was a rough one.  He was up late into the night, or should I say early in the morning, since he slept all day.  He did that for a couple of nights.  Last night was a bit better.
Tuesday we took him to the doc for his first check-up.  He was 6 lbs 7 1/2 oz.  They had to prick his little foot to check his jaundice.  The test turned out fine.  I just forget how tiny they look in the big car seat!
Haven has not shown any signs of jealousy.  She is learning that the head is off limits except for kisses.  She likes to hold him with our help.  She has been enjoying him.  Here she covered him up with a blanky (really a burp rag) and shared her bear with him.

Announcing Levi Andrew Young

Here's Levi!  He cried up a storm when he was getting cleaned up for the first time.  I got to hold him when he first came out, which was a wonderful bonding experience.  I didn't get to do that with Haven.  Jonathan got to cut the cord this time, which he didn't get to do with Haven.
He was 7lbs even and an even 20" long.  One ounce and a half an inch more than Haven when she was born.
Haven meeting baby.  Of course she wanted to kiss the baby.  We are teaching her gentle.  She loves to rub Levi's head, tickle his feet and poke his eye.
Haven likes to sit by me when she comes to visit.

Haven enjoys "holding" Levi.

I just don't know who he looks like!  He is his own little man.

It's hard to tell, but his hair actually has quite a bit of blond to it.
