Well Haven had her 2 year birthday on the 22nd. We started celebrating the Friday before and didn't stop until the Wednesday of! We went to the zoo on Friday and then out to Texas Roadhouse where she got to ride on their birthday saddle. She actually did this for her one year also, but she enjoyed it a lot more this year. When we got home she kept saying yee-haw. Since that is what the do while you are on the saddle.
Saturday, both grandparents where in town and we went out to Cookin' from Scratch. We saw that they had a birthday chicken hat when another table celebrated a birthday. So we requested a go at it for Haven's birthday. She didn't quite know what to do with it in the beginning. It was hilarious.
The birthday theme was twinkle little star, since that is a song that Haven likes to sing. She woke up Sunday morning and saw the ceiling and said "Twinkle Star!".
Sunday morning the church celebrated Haven's birthday. She got a new doll that she has carried everywhere. She also got a basket of plastic food that she enjoys playing with too. Oh, and a Cardinal shirt.
We decided to have her official birthday party on Sunday after church.
Trying to get all of the kids to look at the camera took a lot of tries!
This is as close as I got.
Every time she got an outfit she would say "cute". It was funny because she kept taking over to Caleb, who is a three year old boy who could care less about the clothes.
My nephew got a electric drum set for Christmas and she loved it, so we decided to get her one for her birthday.
We also celebrated a little bit on her birthday. We had pizza and I made another cookie. The college class came over early that night to help celebrate. She got a wiggles dance video for her birthday, so I put on this outfit so that she could dance with the video. She is carrying the new doll she got from the church.
Thursday she got some more gifts in the mail from Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Amie. Shoes!! Haven loves shoes.
She also got a bunny book.
We had a great time celebrating her birthday all week long.
To start Haven's birthday celebrations, we went to the zoo Friday. Boy howdy was it busy! It was a lovely day. Sun with a cool breeze to keep us from sweating. Haven's favorite part of the zoo was pushing her stroller. We did not get a picture of it though. She would not even let us touch the stroller to help her. We went with Jonathan's parents and his brother Michael. We had a lovely day.
The Young family with our newest addition.
Haven wearing PawPaw Young's hat.
At first Haven didn't want to ride, but she was fine once the got started. It is hard on a toddler when they do not get their nap.
Michael had a good time on the Carrousel.
Haven and daddy watching the hippos swim.
Haven pulling the eyeballs out of the huge frog.
In the children's zoo they had the opportunity to pet Guinea Pigs.
Trying to get this picture was pretty near impossible as you can tell!
The turkey let Haven pet him/her and then decided to flap it's huge wings. It startled Haven. You can see it is as big as Haven is.
They had a goat petting area. Michael and Haven had a good time petting the goats.
Michael pushing Haven the short time she was in her stroller. This picture is us arriving at the zoo and that is pretty much the only time she rode in it.
The non-Christ centered side of Easter was fun this year since Haven was old enough to hunt for eggs. Of course I spoiled the grandparent's fun by having stuffed animals (they are taking over our house) and candy (some year soon she will get to indulge) as off-limits items. They survived and they had the opportunity to be a little more creative. She got books, bubbles, yummy snacks and sidewalk chalk among other items.
Her dress was given to her when she was first born and as it worked out it was the perfect Easter dress this year! I just love this picture.
I know I am biased, but I just think she is the cutest thing. The book that she has in her hand is her newest must have. She carries it everywhere and reads it all the time. She even wanted to take a nap with it. I found out that wasn't such a good idea.
These are her church "mothers". They take care of her and play with her in the nursery. Sunday they were playing photographer and had her posing for "pictures".
A bag full of Easter eggs and candy. She was nice and collected them for mommy and daddy :o)
Haven's paparazzi minus me. It was quite funny.
Michael hid the eggs from Haven and then she would look for them. You can see Michael helping her by pointing one out.
